Embarking on an architectural project, whether it’s a small renovation or a large-scale building, is a hugely exciting step and we’d love to help you along the way! We’re friendly, enthusiastic, experienced, and knowledgeable. 

Chiverton Architects was started by Barnaby Chiverton in 2006. Prior to forming the practice Barnaby worked with some of the best design architects in the world. He then worked alongside developers before coming back to what he loved – design. This combination of design expertise and cost awareness informs his approach to all his projects. 

Our practice has worked on all sorts of projects from cubby houses to resorts. For us size doesn’t matter, what does matter is what we can bring to your project. We want whatever we design to be cool, to be meaningful, to work for you and to cost what you expect it to cost. We do this with integrity, respect, knowledge, and kindness. 

Which brings us to costs. Without doubt costs are one of the biggest factors for anyone thinking about building – and rightly so! We will be upfront with you about what we believe your project will cost and we will double check it before you get too far down the track. We will keep you posted throughout the project to ensure there are no surprises. 

“How do I know that I’ll like what you design?” Good question, the first thing you should know is that we view all our projects as collaborations. Like the show ‘Queer Eye’, we’re not out to change you, we’re there to bring out the best for you. This is an aspect of architecture we love – the sharing of ideas – it adds variety to what we do and makes us better architects.
